I installed these packages to get deepin: xorg-server + xf86-video-intel + deepin + lightdm. I then enabled lightdm so it auto starts on boot and modified its config so it uses deepin.
I found a similar thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comm … o_restore/) to mine but the suggestions mentioned there but it didn't work for me.
Can you please help?
Thanks
edit1: When I go to Font settings in the Control Panel, all the default fonts are listed as unsupported.

No. It's not clear what your actual problem is…
Deepin drop and leaves a config in ~/.config/fontconfig/conf.d/ which is going to mess up the system after removing deepin, but that does not seem to be your problem?

edited my original post. hopefully it's clearer now. Was posting from my tablet and it's not as easy to write a longish post on that device. Thanks!

idk what deepin deems "unsupported", but the latest freetype2 release caused quite some havoc around the default char, you might want to try to downgrade to 2.9.1-1

Deepin's control center is full shit; it's too unstable, and many things not available.
Do your configurations by hand, and create your own fontconfig file. I did that, it's easy.
