Boots to black screen and can't wake from sleep with Alienware AW568

I recently got an Alienware AW568 keyboard. Whenever the keyboard is connected in my laptop, while booting, the monitor just boots to a black screen and I can't even access tty or REISOU/REISUB. Likewise, whenever I suspend the laptop it won't wake up. There's a band-aid where I can just unplug the keyboard and then boot or wake, and then plug the keyboard back in after the laptop starts, and both the laptop and keyboard will work fine after that. But I feel like there should be a better solution.

Have you checked the systemd journal for any error messages or other clues?

I checked the journal when it boots with just a black screen and noticed that this message keeps repeating.

Entering those errors into a search engine throws up a few amdgpu bug reports over at freedesktop.org but I'm not sure how it relates to the keyboard.

Do you still see those errors if you boot with the keyboard disconnected?

Perhaps post (a link to) the complete journal log for a failed boot, you may have missed something.

I reseted the firmware on the keyboard with a Windows computer and my Arch laptop starts up fine now; however, it still can't wake up properly from sleep - it's stuck on a black screen and I have to to a hard reset. Here's a link to the journal, though I'm pretty new to Arch and I can't make head or tails out of most of it: https://pastebin.com/XrC2eP2y

I would recommend ensuring that the amdgpu kernel driver is being used but your journal seems to show that it is.

The -k flag for lspci will show for sure though, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AMDGPU#Loading if it isn't loaded.
