How to set init in grub?

Hello,

I am having the same issue as this person (see link below) as well as many other people who have posted the same issue. I understand I am supposed to append "init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd" into the grub config file. However, when I press e over my Arch Linux grub menu option and I get the editor for the file, I don't have an option to save the config file and boot the OS. Instead, I appended the line and then pressed the button to boot the OS however, this showed the same error. When I check by rebooting if the line was saved, the line is no longer there. Can someone inform me as to how to append this line to the file and save it so I can boot Arch? Thank you in advance for any help.
