[Solved] HDMI output not listed in pavucontrol

Even though pavucontrol doesn't list hdmi output, the speaker-test works with hdmi:

speaker-test -D hdmi:CARD=PCH,DEV=0 -c 2

sends noise to TV.

Why doesn't pavucontrol list hdmi?

Re: [Solved] HDMI output not listed in pavucontrol

		hdmi-output-0: HDMI / DisplayPort (priority 5900, latency offset 0 usec, available: yes)
			properties:
				device.icon_name = "video-display"
				device.product.name = "TV-monitor"

On laptops like these the HDMI port is part of the same card but available as a different subdevice. In pulseaudio terms pulseaudio will create a separate profile for HDMI card, which you can switch in pavucontrol's configuration tab and/or

pacmd set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1b.0 hdmi-output-0

Hah, never checked the configuration tab. Thanks, mate!

As a newbie to arch this had me scratching my head for a while, so thank you!
