Ranking mirrors by package availability

Is there a way to rank mirrors by how many packages are available rather than by speed ?

The main problem I have with arch right now is that loads of installs take me 5+ minutes because most of my mirrors seem to lack one of the packages required. The way I generate my list is with: `reflector --latest 200 --protocol http --protocol https --sort rate --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist`

Re: Ranking mirrors by package availability

sort "age" or "score"?
I'd try including less "latest" mirrors (I've got 10…)

Re: Ranking mirrors by package availability

If mirror is recently synced it should have all the packages. Please correct me if that's wrong.

Re: Ranking mirrors by package availability

He's pulling the 200 mirrors synced latest and then sorts them by the download rate. This gets you fast but possibly old servers.
(Therefore I'd limit the number of "latest" servers and sort those by speed)

The completion defaults to 100% but that info could be slightly dated (ie. a server is 100% though it's not gotten the very last syncs, dunno)

Re: Ranking mirrors by package availability

I think instead of using latest, age is better criteria. I use "--age 1 --sort rate -n 10". This gives only fastest 10 mirrors that have synced in last hour.
