MATE; open file dialog: enable 'single click to open items' behaviour

How do you set the 'open file dialog' to open the items with a single click?
It's inconsistent when Caja is set to that but the open file dialog isn't.
Any help much appreciated.

Re: MATE; open file dialog: enable 'single click to open items' behaviour

It seems this isn't possible. I found this bug report about the topic:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121113

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/issues/228

It started being discussed in 2003, it's sixteen years of discussion!

Re: MATE; open file dialog: enable 'single click to open items' behaviour

Thanks for digging this up.
Sixteen years, good to know bugs that old even exist.
Perhaps.. some day.. I do it myself! smile (No I won't)

Ps. It seems the quest for THE perfect Linux DE is still on, I honestly think I might never get there, I have very basic requirements in terms of usability but do not seem to be able to fulfill them fully. It's either going full console-based setup (I am thinking E16 or DWM) or go all the way with a full-blown GNOME 3. MATE comes really close though.

Ps2. It's funny how diversity is one of the strongest and weakest aspects of Linux environments. It  all more or less depends on particular use-case scenarios.

Ps3. Diversity ==> Segmentation ==> Some Good and Some Bad aspects
