registration script for mail

i'm trying to make a script to registers users for mailserver...

i'm using postfix and courier-imap with pop3 and imap

but i still can't figure aout how to send mail to user like:

mail -s Welcome $user
welcome
.

but got problem to send to console "welcome" and "." ;(

plz help big_smile

try piping it:

(
   echo "bla"
   echo "bla "
   echo "bla"
   echo " "
) | mail -s <subject> <username>
