I'm new to Arch Linux (typically I run Fedora but I started a new job and there were a couple other folks running Arch so I opted for the new distro so problems would be easier to solve since). I'm not really sure where to post this or how to go about determining if this is an Arch thing, a Mate Desktop thing or a Chromium thing.
I am running Chromium and it's windowing behavior is different from other applications that I run. In most of the applications I run, when the application window is maximized, I can left click and drag it to a different monitor. The application window will automatically un-maximize. For Chromium, the behavior is different; when the Chromium window is maximized and I left click drag it to a different window, the Chromium window stays maximized. If I have any panels (application menu, short cuts, etc), the Chromium window will cover them. Additionally, the only option for the Chromium window is to maximize it; clicking maximize will result in the window returning to its original monitor in maximized mode.
I am running 5.0.9-arch1-1-ARCH with a Mate desktop environment.
