This has been going on for a while but I really needed it to work today and it just wouldn’t. I don’t understand what went wrong. It always worked just fine and then one day it just wouldn’t connect to it anymore. If I switch over to Windows, I have no issue connecting to the hotspot.
1. I have made sure that I have the right password put in.
2. It is visible as an available network in networkctl.
3. I have tried removing the saved profile by right clicking the WiFi icon and clicking “Edit Settings” and removing it so that I can then click on it in the available networks and have a fresh profile for it.
4. I have a feeling that it “may” have to do it the iPhone or Arch trusting each other as there was one time that I got it working after this issue started and I believe while it was trying to connect, my iPhone asked if I trusted the computer and had me put my phone password in. BUT, I’m fuzzy on the details and if that’s what really happened.
My current settings for the iPhone hotspot in NetworkManager are:
General
Metered Connection: Auto
Wifi
Mode: Client (I have tried setting this to Hotspot and it makes no difference)
Band: Auto
Channel: default
MTU: auto
Wifi Security
Security: WPA & WPA2 Personal
Password: triple checked this already
Everything else I’ve never touched. Would really appreciate some help. Thanks.

Does this make sense?

If the iPhone appears in the device list but does not connect, it is possible that you may need to connect your iPhone and pair it with your computer before connecting (iPhones using a PIN unlock?):

That does make sense. Just wish it worked =\.
In my OP, where I mentioned my memory was fuzzy on that was because it had been a while back but I remembered it because right then I had plugged my phone into my laptop via usb and it asked if I wanted to trust it and asked for password but there was no connection afterward.
Maybe I need to try it again. Really sucks that it can’t remember my Arch install if that’s the case......
I’ll report back in a sec
