When upgrading with pacman, network connection stops respond

So I just installed, again, Arch Linux on my laptop.  After the install, everything seem fine.  I was able to hit my gateway, and ping externally.

I executed a

pacman -Syu

to sync my sources and begin upgrading the base packages.  Pacman would download a few packages (varied each time I tried it), then for some reason would hang and drop to 0.00Kbps.

When I did ctrl+c, I was still able to ping and when I re-ran the command Pacman would continue and finish downloading the next few packages, then stop again.

I've checked my NIC, unloaded and reloaded the module, etc...seems fine to me.  Anyone else experience this?

I'm using the stock Arch 2.6 Kernel with a Marvell Yukon 2 NIC (sky2 module).

Thanks

Check another mirror by editing the files in /etc/pacman.d.

Or use the sortmirrors script which will automatically select the best mirrors and update your conf files accordingly.

# sortmirrors

Okay, I took your suggestion.  I reinstalled Arch, not just for the update though im not that OCD, and told it to sort the mirrors.  I received the same result.  I then tried editing the mirrors to various ones ranging from ftp to http...still the same.

If anyone has any other suggestion I would appreciate it.
