Screen layout becomes mad and xrandr does not obey my orders

When I try to set up my monitors using arandr to look for instance like this:

(in the picture there is arandr menu with two monitors, one beside another. They do not intersect, but stick to each other).

However, after I press enter the screens start to overlap both in arandr and in reality:

causing following display to occur:

(in the picture there is screenshot of resulting layout. By the i3bars the viewer may see that one screen is over another. The screens are scattered across both monitors)

It doesn't matter if I call xrandr directly or use arandr. The script does not print any errors, however it returns 1 exit code.

This issue mostly appear after I suspend my laptop with monitors plugged and wake without them. It appears almost always when I try to play with --scale option. Once it becomes broken I cannot find a way to truly reset it beside full computer restart.
