Trigger external display detection via command line

If I change the external monitor attached to my laptop while suspended (or in hibernation), my setup won't detect the monitor change upon waking up and thus preserves the old resolution, which differs between the two external monitors I work with.

I'm looking for a command to force a re-reading of the current display configuration, so that I can call it from a script executed upon wake up.

My setup runs Gnome 3.32 on Wayland (so xrandr is not a solution), the video card is Intel UHD Graphics 620 and my external displays are connected via USB-C.

Any help would be appreciated,

Calin.
