Hallo friends.
I'm using Arch x86-64, latest update as of date 19/05/2019 with Plasma 5.15.5 and Kaffeine 2.0.16. I also have a TechnoTrend S2-4600 dvb-S2 USB-receiver, bought in January 2017, connected to my system, which has an Intel core i7 7700T processor and 32 GBytes of Ram. This dvb-S2 device works fine with Kaffeine.
The version of v4l-utils is 1.16.6-1. My Kernel is 5.1.3-arch1-1-ARCH.
Here's the dmesg extract for the loaded old hardware:

Due to good experiences with, I decided to buy a second receiver, same brand, same article for a second background pc. I received it yesterday (21/05/2019) and tested it out on my main system. But something has changed.
When I connected it and checked with dmesg I got an error, which is:
[ 3397.712078] m88ds3103 7-0068: Unknown device. Chip_id=26
[ 3397.712120] dvb-usb: no frontend was attached by 'TechnoTrend TT-connect S2-4600'
Here's the dmesg extraction for the loaded new device:

When I open Kaffeine I receive the messages:
Didn't find a device with valid settings or access permissions are wrong
Please check Configure television window
In settings, I am said, No device connected
With Google I have found, that there is a new version of this receiver with begin of 2018, which is no more supported by linux (see update line at bottom):
linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TechnoTrend_ … ct_S2-4600
So, do you know there any solution to adapt for example patch a necessary kernel module or firmware file to make the new device loading correctly with no more errors?
I like that (new) part because it doesn't need an extra power supply.
If not, is here anybody who has bought a new usb-dvb-s2 receiver just in recent time, maybe last 3 to 12 month ago? Does it work (with Kaffeine)? which one have you bought?
Thank you very much in advance.
