Laptop randomly crashes/freezes

Hello,

I'm not sure where to put this question.

My Laptop with Arch completely froze and I was unable to switch to a tty and to move my mouse.

My ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log file looks like this, but I don't know what info I can get from this:

I also saved the dmesg output right after I restarted my laptop: http://ix.io/1JQM

EDIT: Happened to me again (24th May 23:40)

I'm on the newest version (5.1.4).
When it froze the audio repeated a few times, the only application running was firefox (two tabs)

Here's the Xorg.0.log and dmesg output. Please let me know if there are any other logfiles I could check.

The dmesg output shows a fatal hardware error, but I don't know what to make of it.

Re: Laptop randomly crashes/freezes

I'm running 5.1.3 right now, didn't see that line.

I added the (hopefully correct?) Xorg.0.log now.

Maybe explains lack of mouse?

Re: Laptop randomly crashes/freezes

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=230985 I would suggest checking the systems memory.

Re: Laptop randomly crashes/freezes

How long did you run it for?

I usually let it run for several dozen passes, at least overnight.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

Re: Laptop randomly crashes/freezes

It just happened again. This time the only application running was firefox with two tabs.
When it froze the audio repeated a few times (in a small loop). I was unable to use any kind of input, ctrl-alt-f2 ctrl-alt-backspace etc. didn't do anything.

I updated yesterday so I'm on the newest version (5.1.4).

I added the Xorg.0.log and dmesg output to the original post.

Just one run, took about 2 hours. There were like nine different tests or so and it made them four times.

I might try it again later.
