Printer problem (after upgrade)

My Canon S750 was fine until the last upgrade. Does this has anything to do with the "replacement" of gimp print by gutenprint?

printer s750 disabled since Thu 31 Aug 2006 08:58:40 PM UTC -
          Filter "rastertoprinter" for printer "s750" not available: No such file or directory

I had this message some days ago (I have a Canon s520). I tried removing the printer and then reinstalling it and now works.

I've been abroad so I took a while to reply...
It turned out that reinstalling the printer didn't work.

the above lines keep looping for the same job, but meanwhile the printer stays quiet. After I cancel the job lpstat -t returns "Printer not connected".
