w3m in urxvt can display inline images when visiting some website whereas elinks does not. Is there a way to set up elinks to display images inline?
Are there other terminal browsers that can show images when visiting a webpage?

This is a feature of w3m. I don't beleive elinks has a comparable option. But if this is what you want, why not use w3m?
Links2 has similar options. Or you can make a framebuffer build of netsurf (though this is a bit of a PITA to build).

w3m doesn't seem to have an option to number all links on page so that I can enter a number to follow the corresponding link. Elinks can do it using the '.' key. w3m only seems to support tab to move between links on a page, which is not very easy to use on its own.
I'll try links2.
