NUC6CAYS fails booting kernel 5.1.5 from SDHC (GPT, mmcblk0) via UEFI

After doing an update to kernel 5.1.5 my NUC6CAYS fails booting from inserted SDHC (GPT, mmcblk0) via UEFI.

The complete SDHC device isn't detected, so no root-fs is available, this thows me in emergency shell. Rolling back to kernel 5.0.13 w/ matching initramfs brings all back to a good known working state.

lsmod shows rtsx_pci, rtsx_pci_sdmmc, mmc_core and mmc_block loaded.

What else might be necessary for attaching mmcblk0-device correctly for proper booting?

Anyone an idea where to dig?
