Hey!
I'm a little bit tired of my text-login, so I think I will look after a new login-manager are there something others than GDM/KDM/XDM? I'll think it could be nice if it's in GTK - I'm using Xfce4.4

mayby you would like to made a login manager from bash/zsh/*sh ?
just add:
if [ -z "$DISPLAY" ] && [ $(tty) = /dev/vc/1 ]; then
startx
fi
at end of .bashrc/.zshrc/.*sh
(it's from my .zshrc, dunno if works on bash)

Does it automatically login me in or something? Or what is it doing?

when you log in at the console, it starts X
I made it long
as I lacked the time to make it short...

/usr/share/slim/themes - if you're still interested.
BTW - a quick glance at slim's filelist would have told you that. There's a slim-themes package available, but it's also very easy to make your own.

How do you get rid of that 'X' when slim starts lol ?

In /etc/slim.conf:
# Hide the mouse cursor (note: does not work with some WMs).
# Valid values: true|false
hidecursor true
Works for me with xfce4. TBH, I'm puzzled why it "does not work with some WMs" - slim runs before the WM starts, after all. :?

i prefer qingy over slim but it has more deps i think.
