Sway on Thinkpad T60

Today I wanted to try wayland on my Thinkpad T60, I already have a working configuration with xorg. I made a fresh install on a second hard drive and I have tried both wenston and sway but as soon as I start the session I get corrupted image on the screen, on sway at least I can see correctly the mouse.

The graphics card is an old ATI x1400, is it incompatible with wayland or am I just missing some cnfigurations?
Thanks in advice for the help

Re: Sway on Thinkpad T60

After some experiment it appears that the problem is only in the native resolution of 1400x1050 both at 50Hz and 60Hz. Is there some possible fix for this?
