I built a real time kernel for better sound latency when producing music. However when booting with it, it freezes at 'reached target graphical interface' and won't continue. I have tried doing startx in a tty but it fails and says it could not find a display. The log says the nvidia module failed to initialize but I did install nvidia-dkms. Which it looks like it only updates the normal (non real time) kernel when installing the package. I also installed the mesa package but with no luck. I tried LightDM instead of SDDM but that did do anything either. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?
Thanks in advance!

What is in the journal? And the Xorg.log?
Moving to NC...

If you rely on DKMS you need to install the header package of the relevant kernel as well so that DKMS can build the module.

Installing the linux-rt-headers package fixed everything! Thanks for the help!
