Dispcal cannot detect instrument

Hello all. I'm trying to calibrate the color display on my laptop screen with argyllcms (both cmd and DisplayCal).  The device is Lenovo Thinkpad T450s. I'm having troubles applying the icm profiles I acquired because it seems it cannot find any instruments. It has no other display devices attached.

The things I tried:

  1. $dispcal
    ...
-c listno Choose instrument from the following list (default 1)
        ** No ports found **
    ...
    $dispcal -D5
    get_a_display called with ix 0
    get_displays using 1 XRandR Screens
    XRRGetOutputPrimary returned XID 0
XRRGetCrtcInfo of Screen 0 CRTC 0 has 1 Outputs Valid Mode
    Checking XRandR 1.2 VideoLUT access
    Adding Screen 0 CRTC 0 Output 0
    Display 0 name = ':0.0'
    Root atom '_ICC_PROFILE'
    Got EDID for display
XRRGetCrtcInfo of Screen 0 CRTC 1 has 0 Outputs No Mode
CRTC skipped as it has no mode or no outputs
XRRGetCrtcInfo of Screen 0 CRTC 2 has 0 Outputs No Mode
CRTC skipped as it has no mode or no outputs
     Selected ix 0 ':0.0' Monitor 1, Output eDP-1 at 0, 0, width 1600, height 900'
    Argyll 'V2.1.1' Build 'Linux 64 bit' System 'Linux #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jun 19 09:16:00 UTC 2019 5.1.12-arch1-1-ARCH x86_64'
    new_icompath: called with mask 0x1ffff
dispcal: Error - No instrument at port 1
  2. In DisplayCal when refreshing the detection, no instrument was found. Enabled and installed Spyder 2 Colorimeter within DisplayCal made no change.

  3. Added

    Section "Module"
      Load "extmod"
    EndSection

    in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Nothing's changed either

  4. dispwin has no problem finding the monitor. dispwin -r shows

    Dispwin: Warning - new_dispwin: Expected VideoLUT depth 8 doesn't match actual 10

The testing was carried on, and the lighting and dimming all worked, but no beeps were heard.

How may I apply the icm file in this case? Any help is appreciated!
