Nvidia-Settings saves to xorg.conf - but doesnt load it

Im running Nvidia-settings with sudo and it saves to Xorg.conf

It just does not load the config at all. So If I close nvidia settings it reverts right back to default.

Terminal puts out this:

(nvidia-settings:27934): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 18:45:14.493: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

Re: Nvidia-Settings saves to xorg.conf - but doesnt load it

Save, load, default *what*?
Xorg.conf is used to configure the X11 server when starting X11 - i'll immediately add that the stuff nvidia-settings writes is crufty garbage and you should not do that at all (because it's a static config and because it's full of crap - neither is advisable), but whatever:
it has no impact on whatever you expect to happen when you "close nvidia settings"

Read http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html and maybe rather ask what you ultimately want to achieve here.
