Hi all,
Sorry if this is a bit of a newbie question, but I have not been using Linux for very long and don't know much about creating PKGBUILD files.
In short, I am a fan of The Elder Scrolls and looking at the repos and AUR I could not see a package available for the Unity rebuild of Daggerfall that is currently being developed (details available at https://www.dfworkshop.net/projects/dag … ve-builds/). I thought that I could have a go at creating a PKGBUILD file for the program, but wanted to check one thing before getting started.
The source code for the project is available on Github at https://github.com/Interkarma/daggerfall-unity, but there is also a pre-built executable available for download from the developer's website. Should I download the pre-built executable of should it be built from source?
It seems that ordinarily building from source would be preferable, however this is a Unity project which means that building from source would depend on the user having Unity installed. Unity is currently available in the AUR, but it is a large package with many dependencies. It seems that it may be preferable to simply download the application directly from the developer's website.
What are people's opinion?
Thanks
