Plasma(Wayland) and session restore - is it possible

I have very recently returned to testing the Plasma(Wayland) session type in the sddm greeter and have been successfully running the desktop session in that mode on a laptop.  When switching from a normal Plasma session to Plasma(Wayland) I had to get to the system settings menu and go to the touchpad settings to switch on both tap to left click as well as touchpad edges for vertical scrolling.  However there is a remaining issue with session restore in Wayland.

Does anyone know if there is a workaround when running  Plasma(Wayland) to allow konsole windows to be restored when logging back in?
