Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone here has gotten some sort of password manager integration working with their setup? I saw one of my colleagues do it on their Mac through the spotlight search.
I am thinking hotkeys, searching, etc.
I find it rather annoying to have to go to Chrome every time I need to copy a password. Currently I am using LastPass but might be willing to switch depending on the level of convenience I would gain.
Integration with something existing, like dmenu or dmenu_extended, would be awesome, especially since I am using dmenu_extended to launch programs in i3 :-D
Enlighten me!
Best regards

Lastpass has a cli interface, so you can readily bind it to hotkeys. Otherwise, check out the other options:

I am using KeePassXC. It has a nice autotyping feature, but which does not work under Wayland.
The underlying keepass format comes with a bunch of front-end implementations such like keepassxc, gnome-passwordsafe, and keepass in the official repos and there are also at least two free apps for android available.

Been looking into pass and must say I am quite intrigued, especially about passmenu. Looks like exactly what I am looking for. Only problem is I use Windows at home (not by choice). Also I am a bit worried about syncing. I love git, use it daily but I can imagine it to be a bit too cumbersome for password syncing. I may be wrong though; how have you set it up and how do you get it to sync with your phone?
I may have found an alternative that allows me to continue to use LastPass here: https://github.com/cspeterson/lastpass-dmenu
So far it does what I need.
Thanks for your input guys ![]()
