Hi,
this is my xorg config. What do I have to change to set an higher refresh rate? When I try to change "2560x1440_60" to 100 the screen goes blank after restart/logout.

Please use [ code ] [ /code ] tags for pasting command output.
Generally remove that config and instead set modes with xrandr. Aside from that, why do you think you should be able to drive more than 60 Hz ? Which graphics card is this, how is the monitor connected? Which environment are you starting?

Hi,
How can I set it with xrandr?
The monitor has a custom pcb, in Win10 I can choose ~100 hz. Graphics card is Nvidia 980Ti connected with DVI-I. Environment is KDE/plasma

Dual Link DVI can support 2560 × 1600 at 60 Hz so you'll very most likely have to go for reduced blanking here.

Would this adapter help to get ~120 hz?

Nothing that involves "DVI" at any stage will support 2560×1440@120Hz - you can try 120HZ w/ reduced blanking but that's actually also out of spec. Adding adpters will usually not improve the situation.

Ok, I would like to try it, but what do I have to add to the xorg.conf or how to do that with xrandr?

See the link I posted in comment #4
