[WORKAROUND] gnome-builder: Make terminal default tab

I am using gnome-builder (GNOME Builder 3.32.4) as IDE.
In previous versions, it was possible to customize the bottom bar and the displayed tabs.
In the current configuration it contains two tabs, the "build output" and the "Terminal".
I just want to have the latter, not former, which also is the default tab, wen I open a project.
So, in order to use the console, I always have to click on the "Terminal" tab first, which is annoying, if you have to do this a hundred times a day.
I am pretty sure, that the preferences had a setting to customize this in previous versions, but it seems to have gone.
Is there a way to hide the "build output" or at least make the terminal the default?

Workaround
Due to additional issues I have had with gnome-builder lately, I migrated to anjuta, which seems to have significally improved in the past two years.
