Open tray icons with single leftclick on KDE with libappindicator-gtk3

I had the issue with blurry system tray icons on KDE and resolved them by installing libappindicator-gtk3 as described in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KD … ystem_tray.

The problem is that once I install libappindicator-gtk3, a single left no longer opens the application. The only way to open it again is to right-click and open. Some applications don't have an option to open by right-click and open though, so once they're closed to the tray, I don't have a way of opening them again (at least from the tray).

Is there a way to get the non-blurry icons while retaining the left-click functionality? I've searched and found a few reddit posts with this same question and no answers.

Sorry to necrobump, but I'm having the same issue with Skype and Slack, and I preferred to not open a new, identical thread. Has a solution been found in the meantime? I didn't find any on the web. Thanks.

After today's update to libappindicator-gtk3 12.10.0-14 the left click on Skype and Slack icons began to behave as a right click, bringing the menu up instead of the application window. Better than nothing but still not optimal...

I'm fairly certain that the libappindicator implementation in general does not handle the case of bringing the application to the foreground. Not entirely sure whether thats a base assumption for libappindicator in general (does it work in other environments rather than plasma? iirc it's pretty much the point of libappindicator to pop up a menu on click rather than bringing something to the foreground) or specifically electrons (does it work with other non-electron tools using libappindicator?).

@V1del: I have a remembrance that once the left click worked as I expect, bringing up the Slack window. I'm not sure whether I had libappindicator installed at that time, but for sure I never had blurred icons so I guess I had the package installed.

I'm having this same issue. Has anyone found a solution? Maybe there's an alternative to the "libappindicator-gtk3" package?
