Hello, I have Lenovo Idepad 700-15 and I started this laptop 2 weeks ago and both of my CTRL keys stopped working. xev shows me I didn't press anything and showkey also doesn't show anything. But after I click too many maybe 20 to 30 times CTRL works for like 20 seconds. This does not seem like hardware issue, more software like because both CTRL stopped working and if one doesn't work the other doesn't work either.
Thank you. Have a great day.

Try a different OS (some live linux will do) but this indeed looks *very* much like a HW issue.

Tried other OS (Kali Linux) same stuff. Well. HW issue I am afraid. Still weird why both ctrl doesn't work at the same time.

Depends on how the keys are wired. The cause will be less a mechanical issue w/ the switches but some static buildup, impeding a lane.

Note that it is possible to map another key to CTRL, e.g. the caps lock key.
See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Li … tom_keymap and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xo … ft_Control .

If I am not mistaken. Keyboards are made in matrix. So if one key goes off a dozen goes off. But I will clean it up and see. Thank you.
