[SOLVED] udisksctl not working anymore ?

I've been building my arch since january and it's been a great experience ! I'm learning a lot.

Something I didn't really get was that the command I used to mount my external SSD :

udisksctl mount -b /dev/sdb1

Is not working anymore since a few months :

Error mounting /dev/sdb1: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.UDisks2.Error.Failed: Error mounting /dev/sdb1 at /run/media/username/5AAD1C4E77F1E23E: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error

I now need to use :

sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt -t auto

Which is slightly annoying because it's opened with SU but well. It work well enough.

I do wonder if I might have done something wrong (I dont remember changing anything) of did something changed with udisksctl this year ? ...

Thank you for any opinion !

sudo file -s /dev/sdb1

What filesystem is this supposed to be? Did you fsck it and/or did a S.M.A.R.T. test?

Thank you for your reply ! With your indications, I was able to research a little bit more on the problem. Turns out windows had corrupted my NTFS (I need this ssd to be ntfs to communicate with the windows gaming tower). I used ntfsfix and it is worked like before again.

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.

Also see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Du … t_Start-Up because that's terribly prone to cause FS corruptions.
