multimedia keyboard

What is the simple way to configure multimedia keyboard?

Last time I tried I spend more than hour trying to find information about possible XKBModels settings. Then I created input file for mplayer. It worked, but it wasn't simple and I configured only one application.

1) Do I need to change XKBModel from pc105 to something else? If yes, where to find list of possible models with descriptions?
2) Which applications are supposed to work with multimedia keys?
3) Is it possible to configure each window manager to use them? I mean way without a much effort - just putting keynames or keysyms into configuration.

Check this link, http://www.linuxgangster.org/modules.ph … icle&id=17.  All programs mentioned there have relevant pkgs for AL.
