[SOLVED] Failed to start Light Display Manager

My apologies if the formatting isn't ideal, I'm typing this all from my mobile device.

Here's what I've tried so far:

"systemctl status lightdm" gives "lightdm.service: Start request repeated too quickly"

"lightdm --test-mode --debug" gives "Failed to find session configuration lightdm-gtk-greeter"

/etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf doesn't exist, but .conf.pacnew and .conf.pacsave do, which leads me to believe an update could've messed with things.

Does anyone know what steps I should take next? I do not have access to Ethernet, so I can't install anything that requires an internet download (like gdm, etc). Thanks.

Re: [SOLVED] Failed to start Light Display Manager

Check /var/log/pacman.log for the reason for the removal of lightdm-gtk-greeter.

Re: [SOLVED] Failed to start Light Display Manager

Turns out lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings was removed (though I don't recall doing that). Managed to reinstall it, but now I'm facing a login loop...

Re: [SOLVED] Failed to start Light Display Manager

What do you mean by a login loop?
Does the system not have net access because the network connection is broken (software or hardware breakage) or there is no network to which you can connect?

Never mind, I figured out how to connect to WiFi using nmcli and did a system update, which updated xfce-session and fixed the issue. This thread can be closed now. Appreciate the help, loqs.
