Just finished a fresh install of arch on my system. After installing zsh (and oh-my-zsh), I noticed that some of the arrow characters were unrecognized (looks like "?" in terminal).
At first I thought it would be a problem with my locale but:
$locale -a
C
POSIX
en_US.utf8
$cat /etc/locale.conf
LANG=en_US.UTF-8I think I set up my locale correctly and generated the right one during installation, any suggestions?
Edit: I also tried installing some fonts such as noto-fonts, etc. thinking they might contain the characters I need to no avail.

What terminal? And did you configure it to use those fonts? If not, simply installing more fonts is not relevant. What font(s) have you configured your terminal to use?

OMZ is an excellent choice if you want to take a modern shell and turn it in to a steaming ratmangle of bloat and brokenness.

I'm in the xfce de right now, using the default xfce-terminal. The fonts are enabled and the default character encoding on the terminal is set to ANSI_X3.4-1968 (which I understand to be a revision of ascii). After changing the encoding to UTF-8 (natively to the terminal), the characters are now recognized, marking as solved. Thank you for everyone's help.
