I'm having issues trying to make X work along with fluxbox, I was able to get startx to work with its defaults using xterm but when I try to use fluxbox it fails to start
and I don't see any errors in the log file that may give a clue about why it does not work. When I try to startx though I get some errors about "Unsupported high keycode ..."

- deleting xorg.conf in /etc and run startx.
- remove startup folder in ~/.fluxbox and try to run startx/fluxbox again
both of those ideas coming from other posts in the arch forums by users with similar issues.
Any help is appreciated ![]()

X is working, so the issue is with your fluxbox config.
Redirect (at least) stderr to a file when you start fluxbox.

Why are you trying to start X as root? I don't know if that is the direct cause of your problems, but it would be the direct cause of many more if you were successful.
I think the direct cause would actually be that you don't have *any* fonts installed. You'll need to install some font for fluxbox to work. But still, don't run X as root.
