[SOLVED]nvidia x server does not remember settings after reboot

as i said in the title my xserver settings are not saved after reboot and i have created config files to /etc/X11/xorg.con and /etc/X11/ xorg.conf.d/20-nvidia.conf and it's still not working

/etc/X11/xorg.conf - you should not use a static config anyway and certainly not the crap nvidia-settings generates.

Anyway, what are the "xserver settings" you expect to apply and how do you determine they aren't?

Post your xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xorg#General

Also: ensure this is not a wayland session, output of 

loginctl session-status

?

i am running two monitors and the second one is always set to 1024x720 after reboot but it's native res is 1368x768
the log command outputs 

grep: Xorg.0.log: No such file or directory

and i have replaced the 0 with other numbers up to 10 same output
and the output for the loginctl command is

Please re-read the wiki on locations of the Xorg log (/var/log in your case…)
And don't grep it, post it.

Chances are, deepin or lightdm reset the resolution after they started. We'll see.

Please also post the output of "xrandr -q"

so i think i solved it but tell me if i am right
so i was looking through the logs for 0 and trust me i have never read logs before in my life but i saw this

and i thought about what you said that it might be deepin that is resetting the resolution and those two lines were the last time nvidia changed the resolution so i changed the resolution from deepin to the native resolution and now it works . if that is the correct answer i kinda feel bad because it was a dumb fix and i wasted your time

The second like actually says "nvidia-auto-select @1024x768 +1920+0 {ViewPortIn=1024x768, ViewPortOut=1024x768+0+0" …

The output at DVI-I-1 is defaults to 1024x768 - remove the configurations you generated, what you want/need is sth. like
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/11-monitor.conf 

Section "Monitor"
	Identifier "DVI-I-1"
	Option	"Enable"	"True"
	Option	"PreferredMode"	"1368x768"

Is this monitor connected w/ some adapter? (eg. DVI -> HDMI)

Yeah - adapters tend to cause this by injecting a bogus EDID.
Add the above file, remove the nvidia-settings generated configs, see what happens.

Edit: well, means that one adapter is less crappy than the other ;-)

i added the file you mentioned and at the log in screen i can tell that it is still in 720p (but it was doing that even before i added the file ) but after i log in it sets back to 768p that's good enough i suppose . i'll mark it as solved thanks a lot for helping me
