So I freshly installed Arch Linux on a VirtualBox today, went through the whole process of setting it up as supposed (at least I hope so). For the display manager I chose the SDDM, and as of the workspace environment I chose the KDE Plasma 5. Everything worked fine until I rebooted into the SDDM, where I was met by the login screen, which I have never left eventually. The login screen looks healthy, Plasma is the only option in the Session drop-down menu. The problem is, that after logging-in to my non-root user, I get a flash of a black terminal screen and then I'm back to the login screen. What could be supposedly wrong? Any help would be appreciated since I'm really fresh to the whole Arch distro itself.
Solution:
After looking through the
journalctl -bas V1del suggested, I figured out that my user had a missing home directory. After creating the directory, everything worked just fine:)
