Music manager with burn-playlist feature

I used Amarok to manage my music collection, and a great third-party Amarok script to burn my playlist on a data CD as MP3 files with K3B; the script did a wonderful job renaming the files on the CD in order to preserve the order of the playlist (e.g. song.mp3 -> 001_song.mp3). I fought hard to keep Amarok working on my machine because of this feature which I didn't find in any other player, but now I have to give up since the script does not work with the (incomplete) Amarok port to KF5 available rom AUR. Is there any other music manager that can burn a playlist to a CD? Thanks.

Hi, not that I have ever tried it but I know for sure VLC can do what you want. You may even be able to use a custom script, again, never tried it.

Re: Music manager with burn-playlist feature

I played a bit with VLC, but if I'm correct then it just plays music (in other words, it doesn't keep a music collection with songs sorted by author, genre, album etc.) and the burning feature converts a playlist to an audio CD (while what I'd like is to burn the MP3 files into a data cd). Did I miss something?

Pretty sure rhythymbox has this capability. I believe it would require brasero for burning though, plus other gnome deps.

I tried also rhythmbox but as far as I understood it just supports burning an audio CD with brasero, not a data CD.

Re: Music manager with burn-playlist feature

In the end I've gone the hard way and fixed Amarok. I've been able to restore the scripting capabilities (amarok-scripting) that were removed from the KF5 port and now the script that burns the playlist using K3B works again.
