ibus is not working in KDE Plasma

I use ibus to type in other writing systems and after a recent update it stopped working on KDE Plasma ArchLinux. It works only if I start the application from the terminal like this:

QT_IM_MODULE=ibus loffice

I would be very grateful for any suggestions.
