CUPS, partial breakage?

After updates over the last couple of weeks or so, my CUPS setup seems to be partially broken.

The first problem I saw was that printing from GTK applications (e.g. Evince, Gnumeric) stopped working, with the message "Filter failed." On looking in /var/log/cups I see "/usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftops) crashed on signal 11".  Printing to file works OK, but not to the printer. However, printing from a plain X application (e.g. xpdf) works OK.

A more recent problem (after the update to CUPS 2.3): the web interface http://localhost:631/jobs/ no longer shows a button for canceling a job, and the CUPS error log has a lot of entries like

[CGI] Saw EOF, expected \':\'!

Details: I have cups 2.3.0-3 and cups-filters 1.25.4-1, and I'm printing to a Xerox AltaLink C8055. Prior to the last few weeks I didn't experience any problems.

Re: CUPS, partial breakage?

I'm glad to say that today's update to cups-filters 1.25.4-2 has fixed my problem with the pdftops filter crashing.
