Hi,
Yesterday I was messing around with the nvidia driver and now I have problems staying logged in. I'm using gdm and I have four alternatives: Gnome, Gnome Classic, Gnome Xorg and Xfce.
When I log in it immediately logs me out to the login screen again. This is true for all except Gnome.
What log files are there where I could start digging for the problem?
Thanks!

Welcome to the boards, klarre
Look through
journalctl -bfor a log of the current boot. Educated guess (please clarify your hardware) you are on a laptop with hybrid graphics and should be reading about the available configuration options in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA_Optimus
The reason "normal" GNOME works is that that will simply invoke Wayland on the Intel GPU and ignore the nvidia driver.

Your guesses are perfectly correct, and now it works again!
I did this:
* Looked in the journalctl - b output
* Figured out that is failed to load nvidia module
* sudo pacman - S nvidia
* Added the stuff under the "Use NVIDIA graphics only" section from the link you provided
* Reboot
* Xfce works again!
Thank you for your help!
