Grub reinstalling

Hi all, after a windows update process, i was not able to boot grub anymore. So from grub rescue i booted into arch to reinstall grub but before doing anything i'd like to know if this is correct. I have a UEFI bios and and grub is installed in /boot/grub/x86_64-efi ù8or maybe in /efi/EFI??)

Do I have to issue the following to reinstall grub and make it boot again?

grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/grub/x86_64-efi --bootloader-id=GRUB

I also have efi partition:

[du@du ~]$ ls /efi/EFI/
Boot GRUB Microsoft

Or may be i have to set

--efi-directory=/efi

?

Re: Grub reinstalling

--efi-directory= should point to the place where the EFI system partition is mounted, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GR … allation_2 .
If you've mounted it to /efi, then yes you should use:

--efi-directory=/efi

It's highly possible that Windows only changed the order of UEFI boot entries, so reinstalling GRUB might not be required.
Check the UEFI boot entries with efibootmgr:

# efibootmgr -v
