I own a Sony WH-1000MX3 audio bluetooth headset.
Today sound was too low.
`pactl list-sinks` and other commands all returned sound at 100%. The connection was made with bluetoothctl, profile was `a2dp_sink`. This was also reported by pavucontrol.
It seemed like there was no way to increase sound.
I remembered that the previous day I had used the Sony headphones app on my android to reduce the volume greatly. By connecting the headset to my phone and using the app to increase the volume, the headphones performed normally again.
It seems like there exists some kind of internal settings on some bluetooth headsets. I was not aware that this was possible.
Should the wiki mention this ?

To clarify: the device itself has touch control for volume too - this was also set to maximum ?

Yes, this proprietary software is probably able to modify additional things in your headset. My suggestion is simple: don't use such apps.
Android devices can normally pair and be used with a bluetooth device without any additional software.
