path initialization

this is a rather general linux question:

how can i modify the PATH variable of all the users at the same time?
is there a startup script that initializes PATH?
e.g. who put /opt/bin in my path?

thanks!

Re: path initialization

Files in /etc/profile.d/ is the prefered way of modding PATH.

Re: path initialization

nice and swift, thanks!
I just added a .sh script to profile.d and everything is perfect.
