Re: [SOLVED] How do i transfer files to old or old-like phones

Please post the dmesg output when attaching it, but old™ feature-phones usually had, at best, some proprietary protocol for data upload that was exclusively supported by some vendor software shipped w/ the phone.

Edit: forget about the verbose lsusb, apparently the device doesn't show up at all?

Re: [SOLVED] How do i transfer files to old or old-like phones

Maybe you have Bluetooth in your computer, so it would be easier / faster to connect through it.

Re: [SOLVED] How do i transfer files to old or old-like phones

On a quick glance the dmesg doesn't indicate any recognition of the device being attached.
Run "dmesg -w" plug in the phone and see whether that causes any tail in dmesg (you can "write" into the dmesg output. I usually press "-" until i can see a nice splitter that allows me to easily spot what got added)

Re: [SOLVED] How do i transfer files to old or old-like phones

idk what is different now but before when i connected the usb, the phone was just charging, but now it prompted me with a "usb config" and i selected the "mass storage option"
and look! dmesg caught something

Re: [SOLVED] How do i transfer files to old or old-like phones

Yup. I recall my blackberry behaved the same (you'd get an option what to do on the phone and depending on whether the phone was locked, that wasn't always reliably happening ;-)

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.

Well I'd suspect so... Please  don't create quadruple posts instead edit your last post if you are the only one posting in between your posts.
