BSPM settings by monitor

I was looking to set the window gap to not exist on my second monitor, as I only ever have 1 window open at a time on it. also; the border color on my second window seems to be the bspwm defaults, rather than the colors I set. I can just make the window fullscreen, but i was wondering if there was a proper solution. I found

bspc config -m DP1 window_gap 0

online, but that doesn't seem to work. DP1 is my second monitor, but nothing set like that seems to take any effect.
