Enable tracker

I've got a relatively fresh install but I discovered that Gnome applications such as Gnome-Music or Gnome-Documents cannot really work and recognize the proper folders because tracker is disabled. But for a reason I cannot understand, Tracker will not work.
Running tracker-status I got this output:

 [chs@Minerva ~]$ sudo tracker status
[chs@Minerva ~]$

The first words are in French and mean "Impossible to establish a connection to Tracker:..."

I'm not sure what I did wrong. I did disable Baloo as it was sucking up my resources, but I thought Tracker and Baloo were distinct.
