So I have seen a couple of variations of this issue and I have tried most of these other solutions (I think), to no avail.
So my problem is as follows: whenever I connect my headphones to my computer, I can't redirect sound to it. Running pactl list doesn't even seem to list my headphones as an audio sink. Sometimes, when I unpair my headphones and pair them again, audio will get routed to them, but it will be on the HSP profile, where I want A2DP. I also can't see my headphones in pavucontrol despite them being paired to my laptop.
That aside, I first want to make sure I can at least get some sound to my headphones.
I checked the wiki, and tried the solution for GDM taking over pulse (I'm using Gnome), which didn't do anything. I have also set pulseaudio to use module-bluetooth-discover, and auto switching.
I have seen this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=240837
Hardware: I'm using the Lenovo T480s with the Intel card, so I don't think I should be having any driver issues. I suspect that Firejail might have a hand to play in this, but it's unclear and I was using firejail before with no issues. (I also ran
firecfg --fix-soundas the wiki suggests).
One thing I've noticed in the logs is that bluetoothd is sending the following error:
Oct 08 19:18:18 AFNANARCH bluetoothd[1201]: bt_uhid_send: Invalid argument (22)I'm not sure how to debug this further, however.
Please let me know if you want me to provide additional information or anything like that, thanks in advance.
