Lightdm (and other things) start on wrong screen (HP zbook studio G5)

I have installed the display manager lightdm with the gtk-greeter. When it starts however it shows on the wrong screen. It shows on HDMI-0 (I believe) instead of eDP-1-1.
According to the arch wiki this is solved by editing the lightdm config.
I added the line display-setup-script=xrandr --output eDP-1-1 --primary  # Script to run when starting a greeter session (runs as root), but it didn't fix the issue.

At first I had the issue with everything that started on Xorg, like i3, but I somehow I fixed this issue. I don't know how anymore and I can't find config files with traces of a fix, but I think I solved it with running xrandr on startup of i3. Anyways, this is a wider problem than only lightdm. If there is any way to just make eDP-1-1 the default output every time I start Xorg?

At the moment everything works with i3 and the default console display manager and I'm running this on the HP zbook studio G5.

Why doesn't this work and how do I fix the issue?
