[SOLVED] Grub prompt after installation

Hi

After installing I got stuck in grub prompt. What should I do?

The below is installation script:

# Start dhcpcd
systemctl start dhcpcd.service

# Update system clock
timedatectl set-ntp true

# Partition disk
gdisk: x, z, yes, yes to wipe.
cgdisk: New -> Enter -> 512MiB -> ef00 -> boot; New -> Enter -> 55 GiB -> 8300 -> root; New -> Enter -> Enter -> 8200 -> swap- > Write -> Quit
cgdisk: New -> Enter -> Enter -> 8300 -> home -> Write - > Quit
cgdisk: New - > Enter -> Enter - > 8300 -> serve -> Write -> Quit
Note: 8306 for xfs file system. For consumer disk 8300 Ext4 seems to be more reliable.

# Format and mount partition
mkfs.fat -F32 /dev/sda1
mkfs.ext4 /dev/sda2
mkswap /dev/sda3
swapon /dev/sda3
mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdb1
mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdc1
mount /dev/sda2 /mnt
mkdir /mnt/boot
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/boot
mkdir /mnt/home
mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/home
mkdir mnt/srv
mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt/srv

# Install base and base development packages
pacstrap /mnt base base-devel
May need to add, in /etc/pacman.d/gnupg/gpg.conf:
keyserver hkps://hkps.pool.sks-keyservers.net:443

# Generate fstab file
genfstab -U /mnt >> /mnt/etc/fstab

# Change root into new system
arch-chroot /mnt

# Set time zone
ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/Australia/Sydney /etc/localtime
hwclock --systohc --utc

# Set locale
## Uncomment en_AU.UTF-8 UTF-8 in /etc/locale.gen
locale-gen

# Create hostname
echo server >> /etc/hostname

# Set root password
passwd

# Install and configure grub bootloader
pacman -S grub efibootmgr intel-ucode
grub-install --target=x86_64-efi –efi-directory=/boot –bootloader-id=grub
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Ask whoever wrote that script for help, we only support installations from the wiki.

Re: [SOLVED] Grub prompt after installation

I wrote it. It worked on 2018.06.01 version. I tried it with 2019.10.01 version and the issue followed.

Re: [SOLVED] Grub prompt after installation

pacstrap /mnt base base-devel

That leaves out a lot of packages compared to 2018...   You don't have a kernel installed for starters.
