Hello
I encounter an issue today with an up to date system. When a KDE application starts (Dolphine, Gwenview, KDEConnect...) a process per app is spawned with 100% CPU load forever until I kill them.
Here is how htops reports these processes:
61680 martial 20 0 256G 18884 15528 R 100. 0.1 0:17.41 tags.so [kdeinit5] tags local:/run/user/1000/klauncherNCjaTP.1.slave-socket local:/run/user/1000/dolphinscXafi.1.slave-socket
I run Arch on a Dell Latitude 7490 since almost 1 year without any problems. My hdd is not full.
Thank you for reading this.
Edit: Interesting, it seems that I don't have the issue when I run a Wayland session (actually the baloo_file_extractor process burns my CPU but it is not the subject )
Edit 2: I was wrong, I reproduce the issue on a Wayland session as well...

After I read this post I checked my memory usage and was also 95-100%. I didn't have any kde app running, but I've used some in this session. I checked the task manager and I found that tags.so uses 16-20% of memory and also baloo_file_extractor and systemd_journald use 20-24%. So seems that those 3 tasks cause the high cpu usage. I logout and relogin to plasma and I had about 20% cpu usage, for about 5mins but then again cpu usage started to rise and now(about 20mins logged in) is 85%, and the above tasks are again about 20% each.

I finally fixed the issue by removing all KDE related stuffs in my ~/.[local|cache|config] directories and by reinstalling KDE. I don't know what happened...
